Vacancy: Distribution Quality Engineer
Location: Redditch
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Quality Team at Solid State Supplies. The Distribution Quality Engineer will be embedded within the distribution side of the business, working with the Manufacturing Quality Engineer to develop an overall QMS for the entire Company and amalgamate the ISO9001 accreditation under one Scope as well as the implementation of additional standards as required by the business.

Accountabilities
- Responsible for quality at all distribution locations within the company (including overseas)
- Prepare and present quality reports and statistics as required by the company
- Develop and maintain a combined QMS across the company in collaboration with the Manufacturing Quality Engineer
- Assist in the implementation of new quality standards as required by the Company
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the distribution operations
- Create, develop and maintain a robust audit processes
- Manage and ensure the completion of non-conformances including, but not limited to, root cause investigations and corrective action implementation
- Manage all distribution customer quality enquiries/notifications/returns
- Be the point of contact for any Goods Inwards quality queries
- Create and maintain the evaluation records of all suppliers and manage new vendor approval and the vendor approval list
- Collect and collate product regulatory compliance
- Lead audits of other areas of the QMS – particularly manufacturing
- Responsible for contract review and flowdowns, customer audits and customer quality liaison
- Define, refine and maintain health and safety risk assessments
- Act as lead for Health & Safety, fire, COSHH and other regulatory compliance across the distribution locations
- Ensure export compliance regulations are met
The successful candidate will have experience of multi-site management and of supplier quality management in a distribution environment in order to drive continuous improvement and develop a culture of total quality and accountability across the Company.
Qualifications/Experience
- HNC or higher qualification in a Quality Engineering/ Engineering discipline or equivalent learning
- Experience of ISO9001, its requirements and developing the systems and documents to ensure continuing certification is a must
- Experience of ISO13485, AS9120 and AS9100, ISO 14001 and ISO45001 and implementing new quality systems would be highly desirable
- Previous experience with export compliance
- Literate with Office 365 applications and quality software systems
- Excellent understanding of universally recognised Tools of Quality, and proven experience of using them to drive continuous improvement to develop a Culture of Quality
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experienced in creating, analysing and presenting outputs from Quality Analysis and reporting on their findings
- Experience of meeting legislative requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, COSHH etc
- Full clean drivers licence plus right to work in the UK
