Allegro develops high-performance power and sensing semiconductor integrated circuits (ICs). They provide solutions to high-power applications predominantly within the automotive industry, however Allegro also serves to the industrial and consumer/computing solutions industries.
Allegro is split into three main divisions: Sensor IC – designs and develops magnetic speed and digital position sensor ICs; Advanced Sensor Technology – designs and develops linear, angle and current sensor ICS; and Power IC – design and develops motor driver ICs, switching regulators, and LED drivers for automotive applications.
With headquarters in Manchester, NH (USA), Allegro’s design, applications and sales support centres are spread across the Americas, Europe, Japan and Asia. Allegro understands that balancing investments in R&D and manufacturing is key to long-term success. They have opened new design centres across South American and Europe, as they continue to invest in new technologies and strategic wafer fabrication partnerships whilst expanding their Asian manufacturing capabilities and enabling their internal wafer fab, Polar Semiconductor (PSL), through a wafer fabrication expansion and optimisation project.
